Jesus' arrest in Matthew's gospel really invites us to look closely at Judas' betrayal in contrast to how Jesus was submitting to the Father's will, and how Jesus exhibits control over the drama. Jesus calls his followers to a higher standard of response to injustice, a kingdom standard, suffering humbly and pursuing the way of the cross, that the gospel might bear fruit through our suffering and obedience.
